Maximum Thrust - Blog...

Ryan:
We officially have released our newest album, Falling to the Sky, on iTunes!!! It happened way quicker than we had imagined it would, but we certainly have no complaints. Also, some time has been spent re-vamping the website and all of the other sites we are linked to in the past couple of weeks. If we are lucky, we should still have our Maximum Thrust Facebook page, and if we do, we welcome you to follow us! Long story made short, we have had issues on multiple occasions where our Facebook page was pulled due to the supposed inappropriateness of our band's name. Can you believe that?

Ryan:
Well, although this is being noted on the blog way after the fact, we recently played our first live gig as a group of four. Note to selves: no more outdoor concerts in a certain municipality directly East of North Royalton. It appears that, despite our best efforts to mitigate the possibility of noise complaints, immediately after our set we were visited by two individuals in blue who carry badges. Although the cameras stopped rolling before we were advised to refrain from further noise-making, you can check out our maiden performance here on YouTube. Notice that the singer is still getting up to speed on the lyrics ;-)

Brian:
After a few days of being able to digest what was recorded the last two weeks, there was a general consensus by the Thrust CEO's that a few tracks needed to be re-recorded. Fallen Angel and Yesterdays Nightmare were too fast and the was a slight speed up in Grunge Redux. All three track were re-done to hopeful perfection. Ryan's guitar and vocal track was also dropped onto Down the Black Hole. Maximum Sweetness! The schedule next week will include re-recording the bass tracks for the re-done material, as well as more lyrics.....if only the damn notepad didn't disappear!!!!

Winter has descended on Thrustland. The Thrustettes were busy today. The studio was re-arranged to better utilize the space and for better sound. The amplifiers were all put on the back wall and the drums centered. The sound is much more uniform. The new material was rehearsed in preparation for the upcoming recording date. The rehearsal went very well....indeed. Talk to you kidz later! And thanks for checking in.....please feel free to drop us an email.

Well loyal fans...I know we have not kept you very informed as to the going ons of your favorite - soon to be famous - band. Summertime and the living is sleezy! Our two new songs are pretty much worked out. More to come soon. The band re-groups this weekend for some more action. I'll try to be more diligent in keeping those of you who actually read this crap updated. Peace, Love and Hard Rock!

FIRE! The Thrust Boyz were informed today that there was a bit of a mishap in Ward 210. A small fire started in the room after the exhaust fan overheated. The plastic cover in the ceiling caught fire and melted to the floor, causing the carpet to smolder. Apparently, the dripping plastic set off the motion sensor and signaled the alarm. Our ever alert maintenance dude put the fire out and diverted disaster at CRRS (Cleveland Rock and Roll Studios). A little house cleaning is needed in Thrustville, as there is some soot and fire extinguisher dust. Fortunately, no damage to any of the equipment.

Mick:
Well, it's been awhile since we've posted anything, hasn't been a whole lot to talk about, BUT we just finished our newest album, 'Making Bricks'. Just uploaded a few selections to the band page. Probably won't be up on iTunes for four to six weeks though, guess it takes them a while to weed through everything.
That's it, continue on with your normal inter-webs surfing!

Brian:
Today, three lifelong friends - collectively known as Maximum Thrust - officially announce the completion of their latest release "Making Bricks". The CD's are in production and should be ready for select distribution in the upcoming week. Look for "Making Bricks" on iTunes and other internet based music sites ( look for listings on this site). The band plans on a short hiatus to work on a private project. Then, back to work to begin writing material for the next chapter.

Maximum Thrust has officially finished the recording of their upcoming CD. Vocals for Ward 210 and Death Coaster were recorded, in addition to some vocal overdubs on Going To Work. Next up...the final mixing process. The official title for the CD will be "Making Bricks". After recording the band had a celebratory jam session.

Brian:
The Maximum Thrust train is still on track, on schedule and over budget! Six songs in the can, one more to go. "Spotlight On Day Old Meatloaf" as Dave Thrust croons his way through five - soon to be - classics. The rough mixes are sounding good. Until next week, Rock on kidz in Thustland!
February 14, 2010
Brian:
A Maximum Valentine to all! A fairly productive day to be sure. Mick and Slick were able to lay down the vocal track to "Battle Axe". We also recorded some vocal overdubs as well as the "gong" at the end of the track. Very nice. Mick also worked on a little pre-production odds & ends. We hope to continue with the lyrical enhancements next weekend.

Brian:
The Maximum Thrust sabbatical ends with a vengeance! Dave Thrust rips his way through the bass recording process in unprecedented fashion. Seven songs...one session! Everything sounded good upon playback, All we need is our producer / engineer extraordinaire to give the tracks a once over with a thumbs up, and the Thrust machine will march on. The "Rock Godz" descended upon brother Dave as on his final note of the session, his E string snapped! Fate? You tell us. Next up - everyone's favorite......VOCALS!!!!!!
January 17, 2010
Brian:
Well boys in girls in Thrustland, recording was cancelled due to a tire malfunction on the Dave Thrust mobile. Mick and Slick toyed with a possible new number. Recording to resume next weekend.
January 11, 2010
Brian:
We started to re-record the upcoming release. The drum tracks are completed for all seven track. Not much else to report. Next weekend, we hope to get the guitar and bass tracks down.
January 02, 2010
Brian:
Well boys and girls, we've officially decided to scrap all of the recordings and start from scratch. Once we were able to listen closely to the "quick-mixed" material, it was unanimously determined that cymbals were not recorded properly (as well as some other drum issued). There was a complete "wash" of them at times. We have ordered some Samson Drum Microphones in order to get a proper recording on the drums. Should have them in a couple days. Recording will begin immediately. We've also decided on the song order for the new CD. Besides discussing the topics mentioned above, we pretty much rehearsed the material we are going to record and had some fun.

Brian:
This site is officially launched. Musically, the band has finished recording the basic tracks for the upcoming release. We still have vocals, guitar leads, overdubs and mixing to complete. Lyrics for all the material has been written except for Ward 210 (which is in the works). Mick has been hard at work doing some pre-mixing and figuring out some new software recently purchased. We hope to get back into the studio in a week or so.

Mick:
Well, the world has spoken, the world wants more Maximum Thrust! (not really, but we like to pretend).
We've recently rented a practice studio so instead of playing a few times a year we can do it once a week or so. This will allow us to become a truly well oiled machine that we might have been way back in the 80's. Right now we've got about 4-1/2 songs ready for a new album or an EP (haven't decided yet) and having a practice studio will allow us to drop golden nuggets out of our asses at an accelerated rate!
Another exciting posibility for the band is that we may be adding a singer to the mix, this will allow our normal singers to fully concentrate on the musical aspect of the act. I can't speak for the other guys, but for me I've noticed that with the onset of age, the ol' motor skills are trying to make a run for the hills.... Anyways, we're talking about maybe working toward the goal of doing a real live gig. Several folks have asked us where/when they can see us live... your dreams may come true! :) We haven't played live as a band since somewhere around 1982 in Nashville, TN. Yup, that's right, smack-dab in the middle of country music central... I'm not sure, but I really don't remember a lot of people clapping when we where done with our abridged set... (I'm sure they where clapping on the inside though)
Stay tuned... Oh, and if you haven't bought our stuff on iTunes, please feel free to do so (We need to buy a microphone stand and need a few more bucks)
Thanks

Mick:
Maximum Thrust had a very productive day today! We originally recorded our material in the summer of 2007 and the late winter of 2007 - Early 2008. We meant to mix and master it shortly after we finished recording, but for a multitude of reasons we wheren't able to accomplish this task until today. We spent seven straight hours doing final mixes and sprinkling some magic dust over the mastering process. I must say, it sounds even better than I had hoped. (BTW, we will be replacing the songs listed on this page with the 'final' version shortly, the songs that are currently playing are rough mixes). Rock On!
